We re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Cardiff that is looking to add an ambitious Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior to its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a few years practice experience who is looking to broaden their technical knowledge and take the next step in their career. You ll gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients, working across both accounts preparation and audit, while developing your skills within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.

You ll have the opportunity to work closely with experienced members of the team, build strong client relationships and take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

The Role:

  • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

  • Assisting with statutory accounts and year-end accounts preparation

  • Supporting audit assignments from planning through to completion

  • Carrying out audit testing and preparing working papers

  • Preparing VAT returns and supporting with general tax compliance

  • Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries

  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

  • Supporting junior members of the team where required

What we re looking for:

  • Around 2 years experience within an accountancy practice

  • AAT qualified, part-qualified ACA/ACCA or actively studying towards a professional qualification

  • Previous experience across accounts and some audit exposure

  • Good understanding of accounting principles and statutory accounts

  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills

  • Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
