Job Description & How to Apply Below
Senior Tax Accountant
Core3 is delighted to be working with an established PE international organisation in Newport to recruit a Senior Tax Accountant.
This is a newly influential position for a tax specialist who wants greater ownership inside a business. Rather than sitting on the outside providing advice, you'll become the internal point of expertise for tax, working directly with senior finance leadership and colleagues across the wider organisation.
Why join our client
There's a clear opportunity here to make the role your own. The organisation wants to build stronger tax capability internally, giving you the scope to decide how processes should work, where controls need strengthening and when external expertise genuinely adds value.
You'll inherit a varied international remit rather than a narrow specialism. Alongside corporate tax, you'll gain exposure to indirect and employment taxes, international matters and tax governance.
There's also a major finance systems project underway. As Senior Tax Accountant, you'll have a voice in how tax requirements are incorporated from the outset, creating better data, reporting and controls for the future.
How you'll make an impact
Build greater tax capability internally and establish clear, repeatable ways of working
Take responsibility for UK corporate tax activity and associated reporting
Coordinate tax requirements across international entities, working with local specialists where appropriate
Give practical tax guidance to colleagues when new transactions or commercial activity arise
Improve visibility of tax positions, liabilities and future cash requirements
Maintain appropriate governance, documentation and controls across the tax function
Oversee indirect, employment and cross-border tax matters
Manage transfer pricing and tax considerations arising from intercompany activity
Ensure tax balances and provisions are accurately reflected within financial reporting
Work directly with auditors, advisers and relevant authorities
Represent tax during the implementation of a new finance system
Use better processes and technology to reduce manual activity and improve reporting
Why you're a great fit
You'll be a  qualified tax professional, such as CTA or equivalent , with the technical knowledge to take ownership rather than rely heavily on external advisers.
Strong UK corporation tax experience is important, including computations, provisions and returns. You'll also understand the wider tax environment, with experience that could include VAT, employment taxes, transfer pricing, withholding tax, customs or international compliance.
You'll have operated within an international or multi-entity environment and be comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders. Experience gained within a leading accountancy practice would be particularly relevant, as would experience moving tax activity from external advisers into an internal finance team.
You'll also bring a process improvement mindset. Experience influencing ERP or finance systems changes from a tax perspective would be valuable, alongside strong Excel, analytical and communication skills.
What you'll get in return
As Senior Tax Accountant, you'll be given genuine ownership and the opportunity to shape how tax is managed across a growing international organisation.
£80,000-£90,000 salary
Permanent position
Direct exposure to senior finance leadership
Broad international tax remit
Opportunity to establish stronger in-house tax capability
Involvement in a significant finance systems programme
Autonomy to improve tax controls, processes and reporting
Exposure well beyond traditional tax compliance
We welcome applications from all qualified candidates who believe they meet the role requirements. We're committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and we'll provide any reasonable adjustments you may need throughout the recruitment process.
