We are recruiting for an experienced Planner to join a leading engineering and construction team delivering major infrastructure projects across the water sector. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a long‑term capital investment programme, supporting projects across both clean and wastewater treatment facilities, below‑ground assets, reservoirs, and nature‑based solutions.

Working within a collaborative project environment, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent planning software.
  • Monitoring project progress against baseline programmes and providing regular updates.
  • Identifying programme risks, delays and opportunities, recommending effective mitigation strategies.
  • Working closely with project managers, engineers, site teams and supply chain partners to ensure programmes accurately reflect site activities.
  • Producing progress reports, programme updates, dashboards and forecasts for project stakeholders.
  • Supporting project controls, reporting and programme governance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring contractual milestones and programme obligations are achieved.
  • Assisting with tender planning and bid submissions by developing robust and realistic delivery programmes.
  • Maintaining accurate records of programme revisions, changes and supporting information.
About You
  • Previous experience in a planning role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and an interest in digital planning techniques, including 4D planning.
  • Experience working with NEC, JCT or similar forms of contract.
  • A sound understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (APM, CIOB or ICE) would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project locations as required.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary with first‑class benefits package and bonus.
  • Comprehensive training and development programmes.
  • Structured career progression and support towards professional chartership.
  • Flexible benefits package tailored to your individual needs.
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Financial and lifestyle benefits.
  • The opportunity to contribute to the delivery of essential infrastructure projects that make a positive impact on communities and the environment.
