Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to build a long-term career working on secure, high-profile Defence construction projects.

Our client is a well-established construction contractor delivering complex projects in highly regulated environments. They are looking to appoint a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to support project delivery, cost control, and commercial performance across Defence schemes based in the South West.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

Work on Secure, High-Value Defence Projects

You’ll be involved in technically challenging projects where quality, compliance, and commercial control really matter.

Clear Development Path

This role is ideal for a Quantity Surveyor with around 4 years’ experience who wants exposure to more complex work, structured commercial processes, and progression within a supportive team.

Hybrid & Bristol-Based

Enjoy a flexible hybrid setup while being part of a collaborative Bristol-based commercial team.

Competitive Package

Salary up to £60k plus package, reflecting experience and progression potential.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of Defence projects from pre-contract through to final account.

You will:

  • Assist with cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting
  • Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, and payments
  • Support change control, variations, and cost recovery
  • Work closely with project teams to manage risk and maximise value
  • Ensure compliance with contract and commercial procedures
  • Contribute to the successful commercial delivery of secure projects
About You

This role will suit a degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a more challenging and rewarding environment.

You will bring:

  • An undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Around 4 years’ experience working within a commercial department
  • Good understanding of construction commercial processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to engage with project teams
