Teaching Assistant – Secondary School, Newport ALN Provision

Supply Team are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within the ALN Provision of a Secondary School in Newport.

The school are interested in candidates who have experience in dealing with children who have additional learning needs. A qualification is not essential; however, this role will require you to have gained experience in a similar environment – whether that be within Education, Social Care, Youth Leadership, Sports Coaching, or something similar.

• Work under the guidance of the ALNCO, supporting the pupils.
• Assist with the preparation of the provision at the start of each Palette, as well as tidying/collecting workbooks and other materials at the end.
• Help with groups.
• Work on a one‑to‑one basis where required.
• Attend school trips, when required.
• Be aware of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
• Carry out general administrative duties, as directed.
