The secondary schools in Newport are looking for a general science teacher starting 1 September 2026. The posts will run until July 2027 initially, but the schools are looking to take on a science teacher on a permanent basis. You will be expected to have good knowledge in biology, chemistry and physics (KS3). Opportunities to teach KS4 and KS5 are also available.
Both newly qualified teachers and experienced teachers are welcome.
- Plan and prepare effective schemes of learning and lessons.
- Use innovative and diverse teaching methods that support the national curriculum.
- Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) in Science.
- Valid DBS (can be produced through us).
- Registered with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC) (can be produced through us).
- Full driving licence and access to a car.
- Pay according to teacher pay grade (£173‑£265 per day).
