Newport City Council is seeking a Youth Training Tutor to join its Admin & Clerical service on a temporary basis in Newport, South Wales (NP20 4UR
). The role pays £120.99–£158.80 per day via the Prism portal, commencing 24 August 2026.
You will contribute to the design, delivery, and performance of commissioned youth training programmes, ensuring an engaging learning experience within your subject area. Key responsibilities include recruiting and inducting learners, planning and delivering personal development workshops, assessing and evaluating courses to awarding organisation standards, and managing contractual performance targets covering quality, compliance, and funding maximisation. You will build positive relationships with learners on an individual and group basis, collaborate with employers, training providers, and support agencies, and maintain all administrative and eligibility documentation accurately.
Candidates must hold a minimum NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject, alongside a teaching qualification such as PTLLS, PGCE, or equivalent, and must be registered with the Education Workforce Council. Extensive experience of working with vulnerable and challenging young people in an educational setting is essential, as is experience of inter-agency working and programme co‑ordination. A QA or Internal Verification qualification is desirable.
