Youth Training Tutor

Youth Training Tutor We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Youth Training Tutor responsible for delivering engaging learning programmes that support young people aged 16-25 to develop their skills, confidence and employability. The role involves planning and delivering vocational and personal development training, supporting learners to achieve recognised qualifications, monitoring progress, and providing tailored guidance to help young people progress into employment, apprenticeships, further education or training.

Working closely with employers and partner organisations, the tutor creates positive learning experiences that raise aspirations and improve outcomes for young people across Newport. JOB PURPOSE Youth Training Tutor To contribute to the design, delivery and performance of commissioned youth training porgrammes. To ensure the provision of an engaging learning programme within the relevant subject area. To prepare, deliver, assess and evaluate the course to the specified standard required by the service and the Awarding Organisations.

To ensure that administrative procedures relating to learner and class delivery are completed accurately and to agreed compliance based targets. KEY RESULT AREAS Youth Training Tutor 1. To design, deliver and develop appropriate and relevant learning to promote positive progression of learners
2. Plan the learning and assessment process with learners 3. To recruit learners to the programme
4. Induction including, meeting and greeting all learners, completing all relevant eligibility documentation delivering the structured induction session and making sure all learners have a clear understanding of the programme and future goals. 5. To deliver personal development workshops
6. Responsible for the delivery and successful completion of a range of agreed qualifications as per programme specification in a timely manner 7. To collaborate with key stakeholders, partners, employers, training providers, and support agencies to ensure effective referral processes onto the programme 8. To build and maintain positive relationships with learners on a one-to-one basis and group work, motivating and encouraging them to fulfil their potential.

9. Support the Manager to embed a culture of achievement in the staff and young people who take part in the programmes ensuring high retention and to be able to access exit routes 10. To manage weekly/monthly checks of all contractual performance targets including (but not exhaustive): performance, contractual, quality and compliance accurately and within agreed timescales to ensure that contract requirements are met and funding is maximised 11.

To manage the monitoring and completion of learner reviews and the programmes outcomes 12. To be aware of and implement the Councils Equality, Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies 13. Undertake other related and reasonable duties, commensurate with the salary grade and level of the post. 14. To take responsibility, through the Safeguarding policy and procedures, to safeguard all learners on programme PERSON SPECIFICATION Youth Training Tutor Qualifications ESSENTIAL:
Educated to a minimum NVQ level 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject PTLLS, IAG, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification Registered with the Education Workforce Council Knowledge: ESSENTIAL:
Must have good knowledge and current practice in the Education sector Understanding of Professional boundaries when dealing with young people, especially on a one to one basis. Extensive knowledge of working with challenging and vulnerable young people in an educational setting Extensive knowledge of curriculum based work with young people Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding (Child protection issues)
