Commissioning Engineer
The OpportunityA specialist engineering business in South Wales is looking to appoint an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team.
The company works across power generation, electrical systems and controls, delivering technically complex projects for a range of industrial and commercial customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer with commissioning experience who wants to work on varied projects, develop their technical expertise and take ownership of commissioning activities from installation through to successful handover.

The Role As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Commissioning and testing electrical and control systems on customer sites
Carrying out fault-finding, diagnostics and troubleshooting
Testing control panels and associated electrical equipment
Working from electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
Supporting installation and project teams throughout the commissioning process
Identifying and resolving technical issues on site
Carrying out functional and operational testing
Producing commissioning reports and relevant documentation
Working closely with customers and providing technical support
Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards

About You
We’re looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong commissioning background.

Experience with in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:

Power generation
Industrial electrical systems
Control systems
CHP
PLCs and automation
Switchgear and control panels
Electrical installation and commissioning

You should be confident reading electrical schematics and have strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
The role will suit someone who is comfortable working independently on customer sites, communicating directly with clients and taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.
