Candour Talent are recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer to join their client’s team in the Newport area.

37 hours (early Friday finish) – Office-based - Salary:
Up to £35k DOE - Benefits:

Our client is looking for a commercially and technically minded Technical Sales Engineer to join their projects team in Newport. A key role in a well-established and growing manufacturing business, the successful candidate will provide excellent customer service and technical support, identify opportunities for sales growth in a global market, and build long‑term professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

The Role:- Promptly respond to incoming customer enquiries and maintain clear and efficient communication
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships, always providing a high standard of customer service
- Identify customer requirements effectively and prepare orders for processing in the ERP system
- Advise customers on suitable product selections for their requirements
- Accurately prepare quotations from Price Lists or from supplier costs and considering available stock
- Follow up on quotations, responding to feedback as needed
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers regarding delivery times
- Prepare and raise purchase orders
- Provide effective technical and commercial support to customers and external sales team, utilising support from the engineering department etc.
- Pride overall product management and provide product training for customers and staff, when required
- Assist QA with response to customer complaints, from receipt through to conclusion
- Liaise with QA to ensure legislative requirements are for maintained and current
- Possible travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas, as required
- Ideally a mechanical engineering background within a customer service industry
- Good standard of education:
City&Guilds/ONC/HND/HNC level or equivalent - Product knowledge, ideally mechanical engineering related with an understanding of butterfly valves, actuators, control systems or similar
- Customer-focused, and commercially aware
- Attention to detail and excellent time management
- Good level of IT and presentation skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good Communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work to deadlines and KPIs
- Teamwork and collaboration
