Registered Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Alpha Vets on a full-time basis.

Since opening in 1996, Alphavet has continually invested in providing the very best facilities for both our patients and our team. We’re also excited to be relocating our Risca branch to a brand-new purpose-built practice at the end of 2026.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

As an RVN at Alphavet, you’ll enjoy a diverse role including nurse consultations, weight management clinics, cat clinics, inpatient care, theatre nursing, kennel nursing, dispensary duties, and supporting our reception team to provide an exceptional client experience. You’ll play an active part in our surgical caseload, assisting with a wide range of procedures including laparoscopic (keyhole) spays, orthopaedics, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with our K‑Laser therapy service to support patient rehabilitation and pain management.

You will be based across both our Risca and Langstone sites.

Working Pattern

• 38 hours per week
• 4 days a week - 8:00am
  -6:30pm
• Either 8 or 9 Saturdays per year - 8:00am - 12:30pm
• No out of hours requirement

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
