Job overviewThis post is held by the Division of Surgery. Please note, post holders may be required to undertake this role in other Divisional Directorates and departments as needed. This is to support the delivery of the service and may be on a temporary or permanent basis.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all protocols are adhered to and undertake appropriate action in necessary adhering to RTT rules.
The post holder will plan, prioritise and organise theatre and clinic lists, taking into account such matters as pre-assessment, availability of equipment, clinicians, clinical need, case mixes, etc. To possess the ability to adjust accordingly in line with any changes.
To manage own workload to defined departmental policies and procedures, a manager will be available for reference when required
Each scheduler deals with a large volume of individual theatre and clinic lists, making the appropriate allocation of patients within defined timescales.
Main duties of the jobBe aware of and implement the detail of WG rules and regulations regarding Referral to Treatment Times and administer these correct Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current waiting list targets.
Ensure that all booking systems are adhered to.
Ensure & check all relevant pre-assessment tests have been completed.
Book patients into weekly theatre lists and pre-admission clinics.
Ensure that capacity is utilised to the maximum and informing Directorate Manager/Manager of any identified issues.
