• Conduct comprehensive assessments of fish populations and their habitats, utilizing both fieldwork and laboratory analysis to gather data.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers to develop and implement fisheries management plans that align with conservation goals.
• Analyze biological data to identify trends in fish populations, including growth rates, reproduction, and mortality, to inform management decisions.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations for stakeholders, including government agencies and conservation organizations.
• Monitor environmental factors that affect fish habitats, such as water quality, temperature, and pollution levels, to assess their impact on fish populations.
• Participate in field surveys and sampling activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Engage with local fishing communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable fishing practices and gather insights on fishery health.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in fisheries biology, applying new methodologies and technologies to enhance data collection and analysis.
• Assist in the development of educational materials and outreach programs aimed at raising awareness about marine conservation and sustainable fisheries.
• Contribute to grant writing and funding proposals to support ongoing research initiatives and projects.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure that fisheries management practices comply with local, state, and federal laws.

• A Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Biology, Marine Biology, Ecology, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in fisheries research or management, with a strong background in data analysis and fieldwork.
• Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, or similar) and data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of marine ecosystems, fish biology, and conservation principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.

• Experience with GIS software and spatial analysis techniques.
