Social Work Assistant Newport City Council – Children’s Services £16.62 per hour PAYE  holiday pay Initial 3-month contract (until end of April) Flexible / Hybrid working Hoop Recruitment are working closely with Newport City Council to recruit a Social Work Assistant to join a highly specialist Children’s Services team. This team works exclusively with Children in Care who are Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) cases.

It is a unique opportunity to support vulnerable young people within a specialist immigration social work setting.

About the role:

Supporting qualified social workers (no personal caseload) Working directly with young people in their homes Accompanying young people to solicitor appointments Supporting with asylum and immigration-related processes Administrative and practical support to the wider team The role offers excellent flexibility - hybrid working is fully supported, and as long as work is completed, the Team Manager is very accommodating. What’s on offer: £16.62 per hour PAYE  holiday pay Hybrid and highly flexible working arrangements 3–4 day working week or condensed hours considered Supportive and understanding management Opportunity to work within a specialist and meaningful service This is an initial 3-month contract, covering a vacancy created by a secondment, with the potential for extension depending on service needs.
