About the Role

* As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will design and deliver programmes that actively involve young people in meaningful activities

* Enhance their skills, and cultivate a strong sense of community.

* You will work directly with the Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) initiative.

* This Welsh Government programme provides vital work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation across various sectors.

Your will:

* Recruit Learners:
Identify, engage, and recruit new learners onto the JGW+ programme.

* Drive Outreach:
Use sales, business development, and marketing techniques to attract participants.

* Build Partnerships:
Establish new business relationships and maximise existing partnerships for learner opportunities.

* Promote Services:
Actively promote and endorse our training products and services to prospective learners.

* Network Digitally & Locally:
Drive learner generation through targeted calls, networking, digital activities, and community outreach.

* Engage the Community:
Build effective relationships with schools, youth organisations, and community venues.

* Collaborate Internally:
Work strategically with Centre Leads and Learner Coaches to ensure seamless learner transitions.

Experience:

Proven experience working with young people or a strong passion for making a positive difference in their lives.

* Communication

Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence others.

* Proactive Mindset:
Ability to network, cold-call, and knock on doors to generate new leads and opportunities.

* Mobility:
Ability to travel across the Abergavenny, Abertillery, and Blackwood areas as required.
