About the Role

Hoop Social Work are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join Monmouthshire Social Services, based in Usk, working within their fostering service.

This is a specialist role for a Social Worker with significant experience of fostering and undertaking fostering assessments, who can coordinate and quality assure assessments completed by both internal and independent assessors.

Working 4 days per week on a hybrid basis, you will play an important role in ensuring fostering assessments progress within the required timescales and meet the appropriate quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocating Form F and Form K assessments, alongside Letters of Instruction
  • Overseeing assessment progress and ensuring key timescales are met
  • Liaising regularly with independent fostering assessors
  • Tracking assessment progress, quality and completion
  • Leading and quality assuring fostering assessments
  • Ensuring consistency, quality and compliance across assessments
  • Providing constructive feedback and support to assessors
  • Identifying any issues or delays and helping to ensure these are addressed promptly
About You

You will need to be an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in fostering and fostering assessments. This is a role where your knowledge and experience will be particularly important, so previous experience undertaking and/or quality assuring fostering assessments is essential.

To apply, you will need:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience working in the UK as a registered Social Worker
  • A recognised Social Work qualification
  • Current registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be happy to apply for a new DBS
  • 3 years of satisfactory referencing
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
