Parenting Support Worker

Salary: Grade 7 - £33,119 - £36,581

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Parenting Support Worker to join our team, supporting families through a targeted project to support secondary schools in the county. This rewarding role focuses on helping parents and carers overcome barriers that impact their children's attendance, behaviour, engagement and wellbeing. Working as part of a multi‑agency team, you will provide tailored support to families, empowering them to build confidence, resilience and stronger relationships that enable children and young people to thrive.

As a Parenting Support Worker, you will:

• Provide tailored parenting support and early intervention services.
• Work directly with families to overcome barriers to education and engagement.
• Coordinate support with schools, Education Welfare Officers, Youth Workers and other professionals.
• Manage referrals, maintain records and contribute to positive outcomes for children and families.

• NVQ Level 3 (or above) in a relevant subject.
• Experience of working with children, young people and families
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Welsh language skills and knowledge of Wales Safeguarding Procedures and Social Care Wales Codes of Practice would be advantageous.

You will be empathetic, resilient and motivated by helping families achieve positive change. You will be confident working with families facing complex challenges and skilled at building trusting relationships that support lasting improvement.

This is a varied role involving:

• Office- and community-based working.
• Home visits and lone working where appropriate.
• Attendance at meetings with partner agencies.
• Delivery of parenting programmes and support sessions both face-to-face and online.
