Transport Planner - Llanelli, UK

Job Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate transport operations to support service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain transport plans, schedules, and route recommendations in line with operational requirements.
- Analyse transport data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure plans are feasible, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
- Support the preparation of reports and documentation for operational and planning purposes.
- Monitor service performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with day-to-day planning activities, including responding to changes in demand, resources, or constraints.
- Ensure transport planning activities consider safety, cost, and service quality.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of transport planning principles and route optimisation concepts.
- Proven ability to analyse operational and planning data to support decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders and present recommendations clearly.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Working knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance considerations.
- Competent use of planning and scheduling tools, including spreadsheet-based analysis.
- Experience using GIS or mapping tools is desirable for route and network planning.
- Relevant qualification in transport planning, logistics, geography, engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Any relevant professional training or certification in transport/logistics planning (where held) will be considered.
