OverviewArkansas Early Learning (AEL) serves vulnerable children ages birth to five and their families statewide through Early Head Start and Head Start. AEL offers free Infant, Toddler, and Pre‑K programs in 21 counties. As an educator, you will implement an early education curriculum and provide child and family support services in a safe, caring environment.
ResponsibilitiesThe Head Start Program Assistant will work to ensure comprehensive Head Start services are provided to children and families enrolled in the program. Using the Center environment, you will assist staff with creating rich learning opportunities that build on daily routines and support each child’s development and education. This position is full‑time nine months a year and goes on furlough from May to August.
Qualifications- 18 years old or older
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Current Pre‑K CDA or willing to obtain it through AEL’s program at no cost within two years
- Enrolled in a program leading to an Associate or Baccalaureate in Early Childhood Education
Full‑time schedule with weekends off, 26 paid days off in the first year, competitive pay with paid training, and a benefits package including health, vision, dental, and life insurance.
Salary: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour.
