Position SummaryThe National Account Director is primarily responsible for the generation of new business for Mega Corp Logistics. This role will work with the National Sales Division to help build relationships with support in sales activities. The role will also be responsible for leading and participating in strategic account discussions as well as contract and pricing strategy, working directly with the Director of Sales and Vice President.
UntouchableCompensation
$80,000 - $100,000 per year plus 15% commission the first year of a new account and 5% for the life of the account.
Essential Functions- Responsible for generating new business to contribute to the ongoing growth of Mega Corp Logistics.
- Works with National Logistics Managers in building relationships and monitoring sales activity.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with a portfolio of clients; partner with clients to understand their business, products, and transportation needs.
- Create and lead proposal presentations for potential customers, as well as sales strategies for the National Sales Division.
- Advise National Logistics Managers in sales tactics and progress.
- Evaluate potential clients and authorize agreements with approved clients.
- Evaluate and respond to RFPs/RFQs as appropriate for Mega Corp’s business.
- Research, analyze, negotiate and agree fixed‑rate contracts as appropriate for Mega Corp’s business.
- Accurately enter and maintain up‑to‑date information on Mega Corp Transportation Management software.
- Promote Mega Corp’s business through participation in relevant associations and conventions.
- Provide guidance and training to National Logistics Manager Trainees as required.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years freight brokerage experience required with business development.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to multi‑task and enjoys a fast‑paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial, self‑motivated, self‑starter.
- Willing and able to be on call as required.
Ability to learn quickly, analyze situations and make decisions which support the ongoing success of Mega Corp.
