Position: 21st Century Community Learning Center Out of School Time Activity Assistant - Itinerant

21st Century Community Learning Center Out of School Time Activity Assistant – Itinerant

NISD seeks to hire part-time staff to support out‑of‑school time (OST) programs after school during the school year and all‑day during summer programming. As a direct service provider of programs to students and families, applicants must pass a background check.

Reports to

21st Century Community Learning Center Program Director

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Must maintain good attendance.
  • Support student success at all times.
  • Implement guidance for positive student discipline policy.
  • Support staff in set up and preparation for family engagement events.
  • Be familiar with and implement policies and procedures.
  • Provide a positive place for students to come during out-of-school time hours.
  • Develop and lead academic and/or enrichment activities for students to assist in meeting program goals and objectives.
  • Actively supervise students at all times to ensure safety.
  • Create and set up activities as directed.
  • Provide proper record keeping as instructed.
  • Maintain a calm, patient and professional demeanor with students, families, staff and community partners.
  • Participate in training to develop and enhance skills to meet job duties.
  • Additional related duties as identified by Site Coordinator, Principal or Director.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma required. Some college preferred.
  • Experience in after school/youth programming preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Positive, friendly and energetic attitude.
  • Must be willing to travel between the primary, intermediate and high school if necessary.
Days worked and Salary
  • 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM during the school year.
  • 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM during summer on assigned days.
  • Up to $20.00 per hour.
