The Coordinator in the Office of Student Financial Assistance helps students and families navigate federal, state, and institutional aid. This role guides applicants through the aid process, supports the timely delivery of awards, and works closely with campus partners to resolve issues and keep the student experience moving smoothly. The position also presents financial aid information to groups of all sizes and stays alert to emerging student needs.
It blends one‑on‑one support, clear communication, and proactive problem‑solving to strengthen the overall experience for students and families.
- Take charge of an assigned area of specialty, providing leadership and overseeing program management responsibilities. Area of specialization assignments may include acting as the lead point of contact for KHEAA state grant programs, ensuring effective communication with KHEAA staff, meeting state deadlines, and managing the review and processing of aid applications.
- Deliver exceptional student service through various channels, including in-person interactions, telephone conversations, and email correspondence.
- Support all students, both face‑to‑face and online, maintaining a high standard of service aligned with the institution’s commitment to exceptional student experiences.
- Assist the Associate Director of Compliance and the Accountant for Reconciliation by actively contributing to assigned tasks, with a proactive and detail‑oriented approach to tasks, fostering a seamless workflow within the financial aid department.
- Interpret and adhere to federal, state, and institutional financial aid rules and regulations, stay informed about updates and changes in regulations to uphold the integrity of financial aid processes.
- Present financial aid information to small and large groups at on‑ and off‑campus events.
- Support recruitment initiatives by engaging with audiences and contributing to the success of outreach and recruitment endeavors.
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional experience in financial aid or a closely related area. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a solid grasp of internal controls
