Student Success Tutor at West KY Community & Tech College: AmeriCorps Ky College Coach

Overview

Join the Kentucky College Coaches on Campus program as an Ameri Corps College Coach. You will support first‑generation, low‑income, minority, non‑traditional and disabled high school students through mentoring, advising, and career readiness to transition to and persist through college.

• Provide individualized mentoring and guidance on academic, social, and career planning
• Support students with time management, organization, and study strategies
• Help students apply to college, complete the FAFSA, and meet ACT college‑readiness benchmarks
• Collaborate with teachers and counselors to implement tutoring and college‑readiness plans
• Promote financial literacy, course planning, and college‑bound curriculum
• Engage families and host college planning events like FAFSA or admissions nights
• Recruit community volunteers to assist with academic and career support
• Track student progress and outcomes related to college enrollment and persistence

• Increase college applications, FAFSA submissions, and ACT benchmark achievement
• Reduce the need for remedial college coursework
• Improve college enrollment and first‑to‑second‑year persistence

• Passionate about education equity and student mentorship
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Comfortable working with diverse populations
• Committed to full‑time service through Ameri Corps

Associate Degree (preferred Bachelor’s Degree). Less than 1 year experience.

Compensation: $1,810.00 per month plus housing allowance. Pay Grade: UN.
