Purpose

The Center for Employment Training (CET) Success Coach, or Human Development Coach, is a year‑round, full‑time position in our post‑secondary career training program. The role is to lead the Skill Division in partnership with the Skill Instructor and Career Coach, partner with trainees to identify barriers, and provide individualized and group lessons on employability and life skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Build trusting, professional relationships with trainees.
  • Guide trainees in building their employment preparation, adult education, and soft skills by facilitating workshops and providing one‑on‑one coaching.
  • Assist trainees in learning new skills and preparing for certifications by providing tutoring.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop curricula, grade assignments, formulate work plans, and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Provide individualized coaching to career seekers to address barriers to employment.
  • Make calls to absent trainees daily and conduct home visits as needed.
  • Participate in weekly case management meetings, staff meetings, and other agency meetings.
  • Manage attendance roster and facilitate daily communication with absent trainees.
  • Maintain relationships with community organizations and case workers.
  • Develop content and facilitate workshops on a weekly basis and implement applied learning opportunities within the curriculum.
  • Actively participate in community events and build awareness of CET within the community.
  • Track data, perform data entry, update databases and outcome tracking spreadsheets, and report trainee progress.
Requirements
  • Passion for working with a diverse population and unshakeable belief in trainees’ potential to become self‑sufficient.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and navigation of database applications.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while demonstrating attention to detail in reporting and documentation.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Ability to adapt and maintain flexibility in a fast‑paced and changing environment.

Salary and Position Status

This is an Exempt position with a salary range of $37,000 – $39,000.
