Souvenir Photography Host - Part Time Weekends

MAJOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Enterprises' Core Values and Newport Aquarium Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and memorable guest experience.
• Maintain a positive attitude and clean appearance.
• Approach guests and offer photo services in a friendly and engaging manner.
• Work with other team members/departments of Newport Aquarium to ensure effective communications.
• Maintain appropriate guest and fellow host relations, ensuring guest and team satisfaction.
• Delivers high quality images to guests, accurately setting camera settings prior to shooting photos.
• Ensures assigned photo location is stocked, clean, prepared and organized.
• Must be self‑motivated, work independently, as well as with a team.
• Must maintain a willingness and ability to learn and perform all job functions, including sales and up‑selling.
• Contribute to a work environment that is satisfying, enjoyable and energetic.
• Responsible for proper cash handling and maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Prior cash handling and point of sale experience is a plus.
• Must have strong public speaking skills and the ability to read, write and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages is a plus).
• Must be able to think clearly, react quickly, and calmly to changes and/or stressful situations.
• Previous guest service or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include weekends and/or evenings and holidays.

• Successful completion of pre‑employment background check.
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time, ascend/descend floors, bend, reach, and stoop.
• No history of allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work.
• Physical strength, including the ability to occasionally lift 25 pounds
