INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT II – Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE)

POSITION OVERVIEW

This dynamic role supports students, families and their colleagues in the learning environment. Working with kids and helping them learn academically, socially and behaviorally is what we do and this role is at the heart of this work. This ever changing and rewarding work is paramount in the success of every classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant college level course work preferred.
  • Three years experience working with children in paid or volunteer capacity.
  • Working knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities in children.
  • Experience working as a member of a teaching team.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including word processing and data bases.
  • Meet requirements of finger-print-based criminal history record verification.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS), Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR), Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
  • Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
  • Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
  • Maintain regular attendance  punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
  • Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
