Position: Vice President for Academic Affairs

Description

Position Overview

The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the institution’s chief academic officer, responsible for shaping and executing the academic vision. This role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight of educational programs and faculty development. The VP will ensure academic excellence, compliance with accreditation standards, and foster innovation in teaching and learning.

Requirements Strategic Leadership
  • Works with the President to set the vision for academic programs and ensures alignment with the institution's goals.
  • Lead long-term planning for curriculum development, program expansion, and academic quality assurance.
  • Build partnerships with industry, nonprofits, and government agencies to enhance educational offerings.
  • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, contributing to institutional decision-making and board reporting.
Academic Program Oversight
  • Manages the academic budget, handles fiscal accountability, and supervises academic units.
  • Research, develop, and implement business models for innovative program curriculum and short-term workshops.
  • Leads the planning, development, and delivery of customized job training with Industry partners.
  • Ensure all academic programming is market-driven and aligned with institutional mission and strategic goals.
  • Supervise all educational programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee curriculum review, assessment processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with the VP for Student Affairs to ensure the delivery of robust academic advising, retention strategies, and student support services.
  • Represent the institution at academic conferences and professional organizations.
Faculty and Staff Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and academic staff.
  • Promote professional development opportunities and performance evaluation processes.
  • Chair or participate in faculty councils and academic committees.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively increasing professional experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing and leading complex projects and budgets
