SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Submarine Radiomen (ITS/ITR).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary
: SEACORP has immediate full-time openings for recently separated radiomen (ITS/ITR) who will provide support as Systems Engineers in Newport, RI. In these positions, candidates will provide system design, integration and test, and operational support for the common submarine radio room on all submarine classes. The primary office location is located in Newport, Rhode Island supporting labs at NUWC Newport but may include travel to support events onboard submarines both dockside and underway, and at shore sites at different theatres.
Core Responsibilities:
- Working with customer program leads to review system designs and provide recommendations for implementation based on operational experience.
- Identifying, investigating and analyzing software and hardware failures to determine root-causes.
- Providing lab test support evaluating new system capabilities and troubleshooting problems.
- Identifying temporary workarounds for problems while long term solutions are analyzed.
- Identifying operational risks associated with all reported failures.
- Writing clear and concise problem reports.
- Attending meetings as applicable and provide necessary verbal communication.
- Assisting with coordination of SOVTs on board SSNs.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline.
- In lieu of bachelor's degree, qualified candidates will have military experience with US Navy Submarine Radio Room including completion of Naval Advanced "C" School in technical field of experience.
Experience
: 6 years of related experience, specifically working with submarine radio rooms.
- Global Command and Control Systems - Maritime (GCCS-M) and Radiant Valkyrie Lite (RVL) experience a plus
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship
Location: Newport, RI
Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
Clearance: Secret
