SummaryPerforms routine diagnostic radiology procedures for patients of all ages, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across outpatient, emergency, intraoperative, portable, C‑arm, inpatient, and fluoroscopic settings.

- Completes mandatory education—Hospital‑wide, Department‑specific, Job‑specific—and adheres to all department policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Maintains current CPR certification and participates in department and interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
- Provides a safe environment for patients, employees, and visitors by utilizing lead shielding, radiation monitoring devices, aseptic techniques, and radiation safety practices and by transporting patients safely and efficiently.
- Operates C‑Arms and various portable x‑ray units; performs arthrograms, myelograms, C‑arm procedures, GI studies, contrast and barium administration for adults, children, and infants; loads, unloads, and processes films; performs processor QC; processes images through the CR Unit and utilizes the digital PAC system for image retrieval and merging; manages the RIS/SMS order entry and scheduling, QA verification, and film movement within the RIS system.
- Introduces self to the patient, confirms the patient’s name and exam, explains the procedure, sets appropriate technique factors for all age groups, utilizes immobilization devices, monitors the patient’s condition, stocks and cleans the work area, and performs all office functions.
- High school graduation or equivalent and completion of a two‑year formal radiologic technology training program.
- Ability to meet registry requirements for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Valid State of Rhode Island Radiographer License.
- Current CPR certification.
- Physical stamina: stand/squat 1–3 hours; walk 3–7 hours; frequent twisting, moderate bending; lift over 50 lbs with good body mechanics; frequent fine‑motor skills; vision 20/40 with depth perception and color discrimination; hearing at whisper level at eight feet.
Pay Range: $30.39–$50.16 per hour.
