Responsibilities
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store. Act as the first point of contact to assist patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
  • Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of SOPs, best practices, and effective communication.
  • Complete rigorous company training and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines; duties may be restricted until requirements are completed.
  • Contribute to safe and effective operations, including basic inventory activities, accurate putting away of deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories, etc.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and may travel to stores in the market to cover shifts as needed.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety, privacy, and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing, offsite clinics).
Immunization Support (Where Permissible)
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines where allowed by state regulations.
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty.
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and report per public health requirements; review and document patient information as applicable; manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • If the state board does not mandate a minimum age, candidate must be at least 16 years old;
  • If the state board does not mandate a minimum educational requirement, candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program.
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
