Security Officer – Hospital Environment

Location: Newport, RI

Pay: $24.00/hr – $26.00/hr

• Continuous monitoring of assigned patients to ensure a safe environment.
• Access control and screening of visitors in patient care areas.
• Removal of potentially harmful objects and maintenance of a secure setting for patients under extended care.
• Behavior monitoring during late‑night or low‑activity periods.
• Protection of medical staff in situations where a patient poses a risk.
• Compliance with company and client policies and reporting of incidents.
• Communication with clinical staff, chain of command, and hospital management regarding behavioral escalations.
• Customer service, providing courteous interactions with employees, patients, and visitors.
• Conductive foot or vehicle patrols to identify hazards, security violations, or unauthorized individuals.
• Incident response, protecting evidence and responding to emergencies following established procedures.
• Preparation of logs, reports, and documentation using clear grammar and professional standards.
• Safety enforcement, ensuring property removal complies with client policies and directing individuals to leave the premises.
• Additional duties as required by site needs.

• Excellent observational and de‑escalation skills; able to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong communication skills; capable of working closely with both clinical and security teams.
• Commitment to ethical practices and following all safety protocols, always maintaining a safe and respectful approach.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Legal right to work in the United States.
• Ability to effectively speak, read and write English.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• COVID‑19 required for client site.
• 1+ years of security, military or law enforcement preferred.
• 1+ years in a healthcare or high‑paced setting preferred.
