Material Handler

Description

Leidos National Security group is seeking a Material Handler to support logistics operations of the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC), Newport RI, by performing physical tasks related to the handling of incoming and outgoing material.

• Loading and unloading of vehicles (where applicable).
• Unpacking freight and placing received material in proper storage locations.
• Moving or relocating material using pallet jacks or carts.
• Scrapping or cutting excess material and maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse and production floor.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience supporting warehousing activities.
• Previous experience reading or interpreting warehouse storage plans (preferred).
• Experience operating standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, copiers).
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
• Must hold Interim Secret clearance to start the program and obtain final Secret clearance to remain on the program.

• Previous experience supporting warehousing activities.
• Previous experience reading or interpreting warehouse storage plans.
• Experience operating standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, copiers).
• Recent experience at NATSC Newport as a Material Handling Laborer or equivalent.

This role is covered by the Service Contract Act. The position will pay $18.02 per hour with benefits or $22.95 per hour without benefits, up to 40 hours per week.
