We are hiring immediately for a part time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE position.

Location:

Newport Medical Center - 435 Second Street, Newport, Tennessee 37821.

Part time;
Days and hours may vary. Flexible shifts, both AM and PM. Rotating weekends. More details upon interview. Requirement:
Prior patient dining experience is preferred. Fixed Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services that include helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering and picking up meal trays, and ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.
  • Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
  • Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with dietary restrictions or preferences and respond to inquiries about additional selections.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
  • Follow regulatory agency standards (federal, state, JCAHO) and HIPAA policies; maintain patient confidentiality and rights.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down the tray line; follow infection control procedures.
  • Assist dietitians by monitoring patients who cannot eat orally or on specific diets to manage calorie intake and other needs.
  • Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner; complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies.
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver and push food delivery carts.
