The Newport, TN paper mill has an opening for a Utility Worker. This position reports to the Plant Superintendent.
** What you'll be doing:
*** Assisting in rewinding, slitting, strapping rolls.
* Assists in for removing broke., tagging, weighing, and storing in proper place. Assists in loading trucks.
* Responsible for cutting cores on weekends and on nights
* Responsible for keeping paper machine area neat and orderly.
* Unloading incoming waste paper.
* Supplying waste paper and scrap to pulpers.
* Spotting trailers for loading and unloading.
* Cleaning basement, canteen, rest rooms, plant grounds, and other areas as required.
* May be assigned to fill a vacancy during absences.
* Performs these and similar related duties as assigned

*** You have the ability to manually push, pull, and lift some equipment and materials as needed.  In all instances that a mechanical means is possible, it is done in this manner, but some manual exertion is still required.
* Have an excellent work history in the areas of safety and attendance
* Are able to work a 12 hour shift rotation, holidays, weekends and overtime
* Attention to detail as our customers expect consistently superior performance and exceptional value with each order that they place.
