Assistant Finance Manager – Cornwall – 3–4 Months (Temporary)

🕒 Hours: 37 per week (flexible and open to considering someone who can offer slightly less hours per week)

Carrington Wood is supporting a valued client during a key period of growth and operational demand. They are seeking an Interim Assistant Finance Manager to provide essential support, improve processes, and play a key role across projects and day‑to‑day finance.

• ✔ Supporting cashflow forecasting, investment reviews and financial reporting
• ✔ Leading process reviews (including IR35, procurement and banking/BACS)
• ✔ Assisting with system migration work
• ✔ Completing month‑end, VAT returns and reconciliations
• ✔ Overseeing timesheets, payroll processes and daily task management
• ✔ Supporting budgets, audits, grants and statutory returns
• ✔ Providing financial guidance and deputising when needed

• 💡 AAT Level 3 or higher (or equivalent experience)
• 💡 Proven experience in a busy finance function
• 💡 Strong understanding of financial processes, procurement, payroll and controls
• 💡 Excellent IT ability, particularly Excel and financial systems
• 💡 Clear communicator with strong organisational skills
