What will you be doing?

As a Maintenance Operative, you'll play an important role in keeping our hotels running smoothly. You'll carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks, ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional and welcoming for both our guests and team members.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping external areas, including car parks, paths and roadways, clean, tidy and well maintained.
  • Inspecting guest bedrooms and identifying any maintenance work that may be required.
  • Carrying out general garden and grounds maintenance.
  • Completing general carpentry, painting, decorating, plumbing and other maintenance tasks as required.
  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance work safely and to a high standard.
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is completed in line with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Checking equipment regularly and ensuring it remains in good working order.
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and facilities are serviced appropriately.
  • Carrying out periodic Health & Safety checks, including those relating to fire safety and risk assessments.
  • Supporting legionella testing and other relevant safety checks as required.
  • Reporting any issues that require specialist attention and working with Hotel Management to ensure they are addressed.
  • Completing reasonable maintenance tasks and duties as requested by Hotel Management.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a practical, reliable and hands-on individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys solving problems.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working within a maintenance environment.
  • Skilled in one or more practical trades such as carpentry, joinery, plumbing or electrics.
  • Experienced in painting and decorating.
  • Confident carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Practical, resourceful and able to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Organised and able to manage a range of maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Committed to following Health & Safety procedures and working safely at all times.
  • Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ideally qualified in a relevant trade, although relevant practical experience will also be considered.

The role includes weekends and bank holidays, with shifts typically 9:00am-5:00pm and 10:00am-6:00pm on arrival days.
