Trainee Accountant – ACA or ACCA

Are you looking for a graduate accounting job in the Isle of Man? A well‑established, independent Chartered Accountancy firm in Douglas is recruiting three graduates to join its 2026 ACA / ACCA Training Contract Programme. This is an outstanding opportunity for a high‑achieving final‑year student seeking a long‑term career in accountancy, audit, tax and financial services in the Isle of Man.

The firm is particularly keen to hear from candidates who are local to the Island or have strong family connections and intend to build their professional future here.

Why apply to this firm?
  • Career progression: five of the firm's current Directors began as graduate trainee accountants, demonstrating a clear pathway from trainee to senior leadership
  • Rotations across accounting, tax, audit and trust services, mean you'll develop into a well‑rounded professional rather than an early specialist.
  • Train alongside other graduates on the same accounting graduate scheme, building both technical skills and a strong peer network.
  • Choice of ACA or ACCA

    Qualification:

fully funded study support, including tuition and exam fees, as part of a structured training contract.
  • Salary increases are awarded after each ACA or ACCA exam pass, meaning up to 13 potential pay rises during your training contract.
What you'll be doing
  • Meeting with clients
  • Studying towards your ACA or ACCA
  • Using analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Preparing bookkeeping records and financial statements, drafting management accounts
  • Assisting with personal and corporate tax returns, preparing VAT returns
  • Receiving exceptional mentorship and in‑house training
What's in it for you?
  • £24 000 base salary + funded ACCA or ACA (ICAEW)
  • Salary increases after each exam pass (13 exams total)
  • Salary reviews every January
  • 20 days holiday rising to 25 days plus study leave
Requirements
  • 2025 or 2026 graduate, on track for a 2:1 or above + a quantitative A‑Level
  • Local to the Isle of Man or with strong personal connections to the Island (family, friends etc.)
  • Paid work experience, whether that's in retail, hospitality, or an internship
  • Committed to completing the ACCA or ACA qualification alongside full‑time work
