Accounts Assistant
Location: Crossmaglen
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract: 3-month temporary contract with potential to become permanent
Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a growing manufacturing business in Crossmaglen to recruit an Accounts Assistant on an initial 3-month temporary basis, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant with a manufacturing background to join a busy finance function and play an important role across day-to-day accounts, stock reconciliation and month-end activities.
The successful candidate will ideally be available to start as soon as possible and will be confident working collaboratively across finance and non-finance teams. You will need to be proactive, professional and comfortable identifying issues and improving existing processes.
- Reconcile stock records between warehouse, production and finance systems.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies with relevant teams.
- Calculate purchase price and other manufacturing variances.
- Process and post supplier invoices and payments.
- Place purchase orders as required and ensure spend is appropriately authorised.
- Assist with cash-flow reporting and supplier payment runs.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records.
- Deal with supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Record bank receipts and payments using Sage.
- Complete supplier statement, bank and balance sheet reconciliations as part of month-end procedures.
- Manage the shared finance email account.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual administration.
- Provide general finance and administrative support as required.
- Previous Accounts Assistant or similar experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and good financial acumen.
- Experience with stock reconciliations and inventory records.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 200.
- Excellent Excel and general systems skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive, practical and able to use initiative to investigate and resolve issues.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the wider business.
- Part-qualified accountant or accounting studies would be advantageous but are not essential.
