Management Accountant (Fixed Term Contract)

Mullaghbawn Job Type: Full-time, 12 Month Contract £45,000 - £50,000 Our client, with over 40 years of expertise in in the engineering sector, seeks to appoint a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to ensure the smooth operation of our accounts function during a period of planned leave. Day-to-day of the role:
Prepare Group Management accounts and assist in the development and reporting of KPIs. Assist in the preparation of the monthly Board Report and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Review bank and supplier reconciliations and prepare UK VAT/Payroll/sub-contractor/other statutory returns prior to submission. Prepare Annual Financial Statements and audit files for the annual financial audit. Develop annual budget and business plans and prepare Grant applications and claims.

Enhance the company's financial systems and processes. Mentor and develop other finance staff, ensuring all statutory surveys are submitted timely. Handle any other tasks as requested by the directors or line manager. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent. Proven experience in a management accounting role, ideally within engineering, construction, or related sectors. Strong track record in preparing management accounts and financial analysis. Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Proficiency in ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero). Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and operational teams.
