The Team at OHanlon & Farrell Contracts Ltd have promoted the company to one of Northern Irelands long established Electrical & Building Contractors with over 40 years of valuable experience within numerous sectors, including the Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Construction sectors, throughout Ireland & UK.

OHanlon & Farrell is seeking to recruit a highly organised, reliable and detail-focused Administration & Payroll Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the business based in our Newry office & reporting directly to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll & Payments:
    Manage the full payroll process, including PAYE, pensions, P32s and P30s, starters, leavers, deductions and employee queries.
  • Subcontractors:
    Process subcontractor payments and maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Labour Agencies:
    Act as the main point of contact for labour agencies, coordinating labour requirements, checking timesheets and processing agency payments.
  • Fleet Management:
    Maintain vehicle and driver records and coordinate MOTs, servicing, insurance, repairs and other fleet requirements.
  • Accounts Payable:
    Process purchase invoices, supplier payments and statements, ensuring invoices are accurate and appropriately authorised.
  • Travel:
    Organise business travel, accommodation and transport arrangements for employees and management.
  • Reception & Administration:
    Provide professional reception and telephone support, manage correspondence, maintain records and filing systems, order office supplies and provide general administrative support.

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience in payroll and administration.
  • Good understanding of PAYE, pensions and payroll procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with payroll/accounting software such as Sage or similar would be advantageous.
