Commercial Administrator

An exciting new opportunity within an established team, which requires an individual to work flexibly and also be able to use their own initiative in a fast-moving environment. You will be responsible for organising sub-contractors invoices and payments.

About the role

Main Duties and Responsiblilities:

  • Prepare and issue accurate client invoices based on verified job costs, contract terms, and time-and-materials data.

    • Monitor, record, and reconcile project expenses, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs.

    • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or cost variances by communicating with project managers and clients.

    • Match purchase orders, receipts, and timesheets to internal cost accounts before final billing.

    • Generate regular reports on unbilled costs, work-in-progress (WIP), and billing statuses for management.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English.

  • Previous experience in a finance, costing, accounts, or administrative role.

  • Good numerical and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience using accounting or ERP software.

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times.

  • Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately.

  • Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed and followed.

  • Observe & follow all manual handling practices.

Required Criteria
  • Grade C or above in English and Maths at GCSE Level (Higher and Further education desirable)
  • Computer literate, particularly with knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Administration qualification or demonstrable 5 years’ experience required
  • Excellent demonstrable customer service
  • Experience of dealing with the general public in a professional manner
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a performance driven environment and to tight deadlines ensuring KPI’s are delivered
