Key Accountabilities
Strategic Partner & Commercial Management
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with assigned Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) and third-party manufacturing partners, acting as the primary business and technical contact.
- Support Norbrook's external manufacturing strategy, supplier selection, qualification and network optimisation.
- Lead business reviews and governance meetings, ensuring partner capabilities align with long-term supply requirements.
- Negotiate Manufacturing Supply Agreements, Technical Agreements and commercial contracts, lead annual price reviews, identify cost-saving opportunities and support make-versus-buy decisions.
- Ensure all external manufacturing activities comply with GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor partner compliance, inspection readiness and quality performance, supporting investigations, CAPAs, change controls, regulatory inspections and audits.
- Provide technical oversight for manufacturing operations, technology transfer, process validation, product launches and lifecycle management, ensuring processes remain robust, compliant and capable of meeting quality and supply expectations.
- Monitor partner performance against agreed KPIs to ensure reliable supply and delivery of production plans.
- Identify and mitigate supply, operational and compliance risks, supporting capacity planning, business continuity and contingency strategies.
- Lead cross-functional resolution of supply issues, maintaining effective communication and escalation between Norbrook and manufacturing partners.
- Monitor partner capacity, operational performance and financial stability to minimise business risk.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives that improve quality, service, productivity and cost performance across the external manufacturing network.
- Lead structured problem-solving activities, implement process improvements and share best practice across partner organisations.
- Manage technical projects including new product introductions, site transfers and scale-up activities, ensuring milestones are delivered on time through close collaboration with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Procurement.
- Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent management experience.
- Experience managing global Third Party Manufacturing Partners within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct line management responsibility.
- Strong project management, planning and organisational skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, using data and performance metrics to drive improvements.
- Experience in supplier development, strategic planning and external manufacturing management.
- Strong commercial negotiation, supplier relationship and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, with experience supporting quality investigations, audits and compliance activities.
- Experience with in veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in pharmaceutical formulation, process development or technology transfer.
- Knowledge of sterile manufacturing processes and/or process engineering within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
