Company and Role of Mechanical Project Manager

Vickerstock are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager on behalf of an established engineering business operating across Northern Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong Mechanical Engineering background who has experience taking responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects.

The position will give you considerable autonomy, combining technical knowledge, project management, commercial awareness and customer interaction.

You will work with customers, engineering personnel, contractors and suppliers to ensure projects are effectively coordinated and successfully delivered.

Key Responsibilities for this Mechanical Project Manager position

• Take ownership of mechanical projects and drive them through to successful completion
• Coordinate the people, resources and activities required to deliver projects effectively
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key project stakeholders
• Monitor project progress, timescales and commercial performance
• Coordinate suppliers, contractors and internal personnel
• Identify potential project issues and implement practical solutions
• Manage changes and variations throughout project delivery
• Ensure appropriate technical, quality and Health & Safety requirements are maintained
• Work collaboratively with Engineering and other internal departments
• Maintain effective project communication, documentation and reporting

Essential Criteria for this Mechanical Project Manager position

• Previous experience within Mechanical Project Management, Contracts Management or a similar project delivery position
• A strong Mechanical Engineering background
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders throughout project delivery
  
  Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
