Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for a role that offers significant autonomy, responsibility for multiple divisions within the group, and the opportunity to shape the finance function?
My client is one of the recognised leaders in their industry on the island of Ireland, and are forecasting 100% growth over the next 5 years. They wish to appoint an experienced Management Accountant, with expertise in manufacturing, to directly support the Managing Director through delivering high-quality management information, cost analysis and insights to support decision making.
The roleYou will be responsible for preparing accurate monthly management accounts, analysing cost and margin performance, driving cost control initiatives, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and business planning. Additionally:
- Cost Accounting & Inventory:
Own cost accounting, including raw materials, labour, and overheads. Lead month‑end stock takes, reconciliations, and valuations. - Variance Analysis:
Analyse performance, investigating discrepancies between standard and actual costs to identify waste reduction and profitability opportunities. - Financial Reporting & Control:
Produce monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with financial controls and audit requirements. - Budgeting & Forecasting:
Manage annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, providing insight for operational decisions. - Stakeholder Partnership:
Collaborate with sales and operations to enhance reporting and provide clear actionable financial data to non‑finance managers.
You will have a positive, can‑do attitude, will enjoy assuming responsibility, have great influencing skills, and a focus on improving processes. Additionally:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
- Self‑starter who thrives in a growing and changing environment.
- Strong understanding of standard costing and variance analysis.
- Likely qualified or part‑qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car.
A full discussion of this will take place during our initial discussion, however salary is expected to be in the £55,000 to £70,000 range.
