Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a part time Domestic Assistant to provide and maintain a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with infection control and health & safety standards.

The Role Main

Duties and Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Hygiene:
  • Clean resident bedrooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors, and offices to a high standard.
  • Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules as directed.
  • Dispose of waste in line with care home policy and infection control guidelines.
  • Use appropriate cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, including COSHH regulations.
  • Report any faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure proper storage and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Infection Control:
  • Follow infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene, PPE usage, and deep cleaning as required.
  • Assist in implementing enhanced cleaning during outbreaks (e.g., flu, norovirus, COVID-19).
Resident Interaction:
  • Be respectful and courteous to residents, ensuring privacy and dignity are upheld.
  • Report any concerns regarding residents’ wellbeing to a senior staff member.
Other Duties:
  • Attend mandatory training and staff meetings as required.
