Group HR Officer - Newry - Permanent

MCS Group is delighted to be working with a well-established organisation in Newry to recruit a Group HR Officer on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a busy and collaborative people function, providing hands‑on support across the full employee lifecycle while contributing to a positive and compliant workplace culture.

You will act as a trusted point of contact for day‑to‑day HR matters, supporting the delivery of effective people practices across the organisation.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Providing first‑line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
  • Supporting end‑to‑end recruitment activities, from role scoping through to onboarding
  • Managing onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems in line with data protection requirements
  • Preparing HR documentation including contracts, letters, and reports
  • Supporting employee relations matters, including absence management and performance issues
  • Assisting with training and development initiatives across teams
  • Supporting the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant employment legislation and internal standards
  • Assisting with payroll‑related HR administration and statutory reporting
The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a generalist HR or HR administration role
  • CIPD qualified (or working towards)
  • Experience with graduate programmes / apprenticeships is beneficial
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Full driving licence preferred (travel between sites will be necessary)
