Position: Real Estate Knowledge/Professional Development Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Professional/ Knowledge Development Lawyer (PDL) to join the heart of this market-leading Real Estate practice.

About the Role

The role will focus on updating, maintaining and automating the real estate precedent bank, ensuring the department remains at the forefront of legal service delivery. You will also work closely with the Managing PDL, supporting and delivering a broad range of know-how and knowledge services. This position offers high levels of responsibility, broad exposure across the Real Estate practice, and significant interaction with fee earners at all levels.

Responsibilities
  • Revising, updating, maintaining and automating the English and Welsh real estate precedent bank
  • Creating new precedents and drafting supporting practice notes
  • Working closely with fee earners to understand precedent needs and market practice
  • Responding to technical legal queries from the Real Estate team
  • Gathering market feedback to ensure precedents reflect current “market norm”
  • Contributing to innovation projects, including document automation initiatives
  • In addition, you may support the Managing PDL with:
  • Legal research
  • Client briefings and legal updates
  • Internal and client training programmes
  • Development of legal know-how materials
  • Sharing relevant and up-to-date legal and market knowledge
Qualifications

This role would suit an experienced English-qualified Real Estate lawyer or PDL with a strong interest in know-how, innovation, and knowledge management.

Required Skills
  • Substantial Real Estate sector and market knowledge
  • Strong drafting skills and experience creating and maintaining precedents
  • Experience with document automation (particularly Contract Express)
  • A practical understanding of the impact of legal developments
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Excellent analytical, research and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
