Your new company An established and rapidly growing engineering business is seeking an experienced Parts & Stores Manager to lead and develop its parts operations. This is a key leadership appointment within the organisation, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to play a central role in supporting ambitious growth plans while driving parts sales, customer service excellence and operational efficiency.

The role would suit an individual with a strong background in heavy engineering equipment, combined with proven experience in parts sales, inventory management and team leadership. Your new role Reporting to senior management, the Parts & Stores Manager will take ownership of the company's parts and stores operations, ensuring customers, dealers and service teams receive outstanding will be responsible for managing stock levels, driving parts sales, developing dealer relationships and leading a support team that includes store operatives and Dealer Support personnel.

Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of inventory and stock control to ensure optimum availability of parts. Drive revenue growth through proactive parts sales to customers and dealer networks. Build strong relationships with dealers and customers, providing expert advice and technical support. Oversee purchasing activities, supplier relationships and procurement processes. Manage parts order processing and ensure efficient order fulfilment. Handle warranty claims, returns and supplier negotiations.

Lead, develop and motivate a team responsible for store operations, kitting, goods-in activities and dealer support. Monitor departmental budgets, costs and profitability. Produce and analyse inventory, sales and performance reports. Ensure compliance with company procedures, health & safety standards and industry best practice. Support technicians and customers with technical parts enquiries. What you'll need to succeed Essential Previous experience within a heavy engineering, plant machinery, construction equipment, quarrying, materials handling or related environment.

Strong technical understanding of heavy equipment and associated components. Experience selling parts directly to customers and dealer networks. Proven leadership experience within a parts, stores or aftersales environment. Strong inventory management and stock control knowledge. Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills. Commercial awareness with a focus on revenue generation and growth. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. Competent IT skills including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as Sage.

Desirable Experience managing dealer networks. Knowledge of procurement and supplier contract negotiation.

Experience with in manufacturing, heavy engineering, construction plant, aggregates, recycling or materials processing sectors.
