Role Overview As Materials Planner / Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating material supply across the manufacturing operation. Working closely with production, engineering, logistics and suppliers, you will ensure components are available when required while driving efficiencies across inventory, supplier performance and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities Analyse customer demand, sales orders and forecast data to accurately determine material requirements. Utilise ERP/MRP systems to generate procurement plans and manage purchasing activities. Raise and manage purchase orders to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements. Coordinate delivery schedules in response to engineering changes, production revisions and shifting business priorities. Maintain optimum inventory levels by balancing stock availability with agreed inventory and working capital targets.

Provide suppliers with rolling demand forecasts to support capacity planning and ensure continuity of supply. Proactively monitor supplier commitments, escalating potential shortages or delivery issues before they impact production. Measure supplier delivery performance, identifying trends and driving improvements where service levels fall below expectations.
