Availability Window

The contract shifts will be scheduled within the following availability window for all days of the week:

  • Sunday – 22:00 to 08:00
  • Monday – 22:00 to 08:00
  • Tuesday – 22:00 to 08:00
  • Wednesday – 22:00 to 08:00
  • Thursday – 22:00 to 08:00
  • Friday – 22:00 to 08:00
  • Saturday – 22:00 to 08:00
Pay and Hours

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on the location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with a minimum of 12 if you prefer fewer hours. You will receive a three‑week notice of your exact shifts.

  • Serve shoppers and help them find what they need every day.

  • Know your customers and deliver service with passion and pride.
  • Show knowledge of the products and services within the store.
  • Work across the store in service, picking, and replenishment areas as required.
  • Use the training received to work safely, effectively and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering store routines that meet their needs at the right time.
  • Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Understand your store’s performance, reduce waste and shrink, and drive service, sales and profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Live the Tesco values and ensure everyone feels welcome.
  • Accept deliveries into the store when required.

Requirements
  • Must be over 18 years old.
  • For roles that require working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or in areas such as the warehouse, beer, wine and spirits, counter, bakery, or driving roles, only candidates over 18 are accepted.
